"Putin in 2012 - Opposition is looking to turn someone into "involuntary martyr". Re: Nemtsov", Tatzhit Mihailovich YouTube channel (27 February 2015)

I don't speak Russian, so I cannot comment on the accuracy of the translation; but, assuming it's right, here is Vladimir Putin in 2012 talking about the possibility that "those working from abroad" might attempt to perpetrate a flase-flag assassination inside Russia and then blame the Russian Government.

"Concerning... false-flag attacks at rallies and such. I hope no-one will step over that line, everything will be kept within legal limits. And [hopefully] the attempts to provoke law enforcement [response] would be in vain. Because the forces you mentioned really want violent clashes. And keep trying to start them. They are even ready to sacrifice someone in order to blame the government. I know this method and tactic, they've been trying to use it for the past ten years [this method] mostly used by those working from abroad. I'm telling you - I know this a fact. They're even looking for a someone "to be made a martyr". A famous person of some sort. They will whack him themselves, sorry [for the phrasing], and then blame the government. There are people there capable of this, I'm not exaggerating here. I hope that people who really want to improve our country, and, to this end, use their rights of assembly, of free speech, do not fall for this ploy."
