Press Release, "Dissident Prophet, the apocalyptic indie rock band from Birmingham, England announces the 29th June 2015 launch date for its eagerly-anticipated fifth studio album, Red Moon Rising", DissidentProhet.com (May 2015)

Red Moon Rising is the band’s first new release since Weapons of Mass Deception (2012), and follows the ambition of that album with the immediacy of the band's earlier albums: We’re Not Grasshoppers (1996), 21st Century
Spin (2002), Modern Man (2005).

Lead singer and songwriter Andy Jennings says:

"The title, Red Moon Rising, is related to the blood moon mentioned in The Bible, which will usher in
the Day of the Lord - not the recent tetrads and red moons, although they are pretty awesome.”

Dissident Prophet was formed in 1994 by Andy Jennings and guitarist Tom Livemore. They signed to a mainstream label backed by Duran Duran’s management straight after their second gig. Their debut release, We’re Not Grasshoppers, got them accolades from Melody Maker, Metal Hammer and Kerrang! After three years of touring and recording the label folded, but the band continued. In 2004 they took a break to raise families, and Tom moved to Hollywood to work for Dave Stewart and Interscope Records. Tom returned in 2012, and the band relaunched with Weapons of Mass Deception. Over the last couple of years Dissident Prophet has enjoyed a wide and diverse range of interest from the likes of Andrew Marston’s BBC Introducing… in Hereford & Worcester to WeAre1Radio’s 'War Of The Bands' in Bogotá, Colombia.
