[JC: While I appreciate this article in some respects, I do disagree with its fundamental thesis that Christianity per se is to blame for ecological decay. While I think it arguable that the "Christian West" may have misinterpreted the phrase in Genesis, "have dominion over" (KJV), to mean "exploit", I believe that a correct interpretation should favour something more like "exercise stewardship over", or as The Message renders it: "be responsible for".]
