  • UPDATE (GOOD NEWS): In the podcast, I said that I wasn't sure of the DVD region code. I suspected that it might only be playable in Region 2. However, I have since found the following information on the seller's eBay page: "Region Code: DVD: 0/All (Region Free/Worldwide)". So, while I cannot guarantee that this information is correct, I have no reason to believe that it isn't, so that's positive news for everyone in other regions of the world who would like to see the movie. :)

Special Notes

• I would like to say that having watched this film twice, and having thought about it quite a lot for the roundtable, I have developed quite an affection for it. Even though I have expressed criticism of it in the podcast, I want to stress that I very much admire the film-makers for taking on this difficult project and for creating such an interesting and provocative movie of professional quality. The film is unjustly ignored. I certainly encourage people (over 15 !) to watch it, and I expect to enjoy watching it again in the future.

• Regarding our "parable" interpretation of the film, we note the following from Diane Jessie Miller's interview with Irish News in 2015. When asked the question, "As writer and director, do you share the film's startling world view?", Diane answered, "A lot of people have been asking me that and my response is that it's an opinion – it's not necessarily my opinion. The film is a piece of drama and I have put things into it to provoke a reaction. I'd like it if people went away after seeing it to do a bit of research for themselves." • Correction: I'm glad to say that there were cinema showings of the film in the UK, in Nottingham and Romford at least (probably others).
